Familiar

A familiar is a supernatural being believed to assist and protect people and magical folk, such as wizards. They would likely share some of the same characteristics with their familiars (such as abilities and temperament). In addition, individuals can take on the form of their familiar.

Different animals are often symbols for different human characteristics. For example, a fox is considered “cunning”; a bear is known for “strength”; a dolphin for “joy and protection”; a turtle for “patience”. Some animals represent states or even countries. Here are some animals that are universally known around the world and associated with specific countries

Each state in the United States of America has a “State Animal” that symbolizes and says something about that particular state. Find out your State’s “State Animal”. Draw a picture of that animal or make a short video of you acting like that animal and send it to the LibrarianTeller.
