Firefly
What makes fireflies so special? Fireflies produce a chemical reaction inside their bodies that allows them to light up. This bioluminescence is how they communicate with each other. Most fireflies produce a pattern of short, rhythmic flashes. These rhythmic flash patterns are part of a signal system that can bring the male and female fireflies together. Most of the adult fireflies feed on dew droplets, pollen, or nectar from flowers.
The symbolic meaning of the firefly has a lot to do with magic. It’s not just that fireflies are an enchanting sign, they also use their magic to attract what they want. Fireflies remind us that we’ve got to let our light shine to be seen and attract the good stuff we desire in our lives. Additionally, though an ordinary looking creature during the day, the firefly is a remarkable sight when it glows at night. This is a symbolic message to us humans that although our physical appearance may seem one way – it is our internal makings – what is inside us (such as our spirit) that makes us shine from the inside out.
