In the ChangersAdventures, Gloman is an exceptional Wizard because we learn that he was the very first Wizard. A Wizard is a person who studies and uses magic. We also refer to someone being a ‘wizard’ if they are particularly good at something or particularly ‘wise’. Though historically most Wizards were men, we now understand that women can also be Wizards and are equally wise and powerful.

Wizards might use a wand, staff or ‘talisman’ (an inscribed stone in a ring or a necklace) to cast magic spells. Most Wizards also have a ‘familiar’--an animal with whom they feel very connected. Sometimes a Wizard might appear in the form of his or her ‘familiar’.
