Grasshoppers are part of the insect world, which means that they have six legs. They also have antennae, 3 body parts and wings. There are over 10,000 species of grasshoppers, all of which are plant eaters--or herbivores.

With your Reader, figure out how far you would have to jump in order to jump as far as a Grasshopper--then see how far you can actually jump! How close is it to the grasshopper’s distance? (Readers, maybe you can do the math--what is 20x the height of your listener and how far would they have to jump to go as far as a grasshopper?) Let the Librarian know how your jump compares to a grasshopper’s.
